This video is for anyone who has been told they need a root canal treatment. Hi, Sonam kundu here and I'm going to give you the lowdown on what a root canal is and how it can affect your teeth in the long run. In this video we're going to explore why you may have needed one, what complications could come from not getting it done, and things that will help with recovery after receiving a root canal treatment. The root canal treatment is a form of dental surgery that helps to cure the disease called as periapical periodontitis. This infection occurs due to bacteria formation in the tooth pulp and bone tissue surrounding it. In this procedure, the dentist removes all the infected tissues from inside the teeth and fills them with some other material which could seal up all these spaces created because of removal of diseased tissues. The root canal treatment has a lot of benefits over other treatments available for curing tooth pain. Root canals are needed for a cracked tooth from injury or genetics, a deep cavity, or issues from a previous filling. Patients generally need a root canal when they notice their teeth are sensitive, particularly to hot and cold sensations. Benefits of Root Canal Treatment 1. It Stops the Spread of Infection to Neighboring Teeth 2. It has a Virtually Appealing Result 3. It Aims to Save Your Teeth 4. It Prevents the Jawbone to Degenerate 5. It Enhances Oral and Overall Health Some people think they should avoid going through such painful process but if you have ever had an abscess or gum swelling then you know how much discomfort can be caused by this condition so making sure your mouth stays healthy will not only help prevent more serious Welcome to Dr. Sachin Mittal’s Advanced Dentistry. Treatment of Periodontal Diseases | Gum Diseases Precautions | Dr. Ria Virmani
In this video, I'm going to be teaching you everything you need to know about how periodontal diseases are treated and what they can do for your mouth. Today we're talking about the treatment of periodontal disease and how it affects our mouths. It's a really common condition that not many people know much about so if you're one of those people then just stay with me because today we're going to cover all the basics so that way when your dentist tells you about it next time, hopefully this will make more sense. Periodontal diseases and gum diseases are common dental ailments that can be prevented by taking care of your teeth. The first step to preventing these problems is regular brushing and flossing with a fluoride toothpaste, as well as professional cleanings every six months or so. With the right prevention, you will have healthier gums for years to come! The benefit of taking care of your teeth is that it helps prevent other health problems from happening in the future like heart disease or diabetes. So if you want to take good care of yourself, start by having a happy mouth! Prevention and treatment Gingivitis can be controlled and treated with good oral hygiene and regular professional cleaning. More severe forms of periodontal disease can also be treated successfully but may require more extensive treatment. Such treatment might include deep cleaning of the tooth root surfaces below the gums, medications prescribed to take by mouth or placed directly under the gums, and sometimes corrective surgery. To help prevent or control periodontal diseases, it is important to: Brush and floss every day to remove the bacteria that cause gum disease. See a dentist at least once a year for checkups, or more frequently if you have any of the warning signs or risk factors mentioned above. The following are warning signs of periodontal disease: Bad breath or bad taste that won’t go away Red or swollen gums Tender or bleeding gums Painful chewing Loose teeth Sensitive teeth Gums that have pulled away from your teeth Any change in the way your teeth fit together when you bite Any change in the fit of partial dentures Welcome to Dr. Sachin Mittal’s Advanced Dentistry. How Tobacco Affects Our Oral Cavity | Main Components Of Tobacco | Dr. Tanu Arora
Tobacco is not just a habit, it's an addiction. And the effects of this addiction are more than you think. I'm going to show you how tobacco negatively affects your oral cavity and what you can do about it. I want to talk about tobacco use and its effects on our oral health. A lot of people don't know that smoking has a huge impact on your mouth because there are dozens of cancer-causing chemicals in cigarettes that affect gum tissue, teeth, gums, tongue--everything! The best thing we can do for ourselves is to avoid tobacco at all costs or quit as soon as possible if we need to. Tobacco use has been proven to increase the risk of oral cancer, gum disease, and tooth loss. Tobacco products contain over 7,000 harmful chemicals including formaldehyde which can lead to mouth sores or ulcers in smokers. These mouth ulcers are caused by damaged cells on the surface of the mouth lining which can create an open wound for bacteria to enter into your body causing infection. Smokers also have a higher chance of developing gum disease because nicotine causes blood vessels within gums to constrict, restricting blood flow leading to poor healing after dental procedures and increased plaque build up around teeth causing inflammation and bleeding from gums . How tobacco affects our oral cavity Staining & Discoloration Gum Diseases Delay Wound Healings Ulcers In addition to these negative implications for our mouths, smoking also causes cancer in other parts of our body such as the lungs, throat, voice box or larynx, esophagus and bladder-among others! If any one of those sound like something that worries you then don't hesitate to make some changes today. Welcome to Dr. Sachin Mittal’s Advanced Dentistry. Best Food Products For Our Healthy Teeth | Dr. Tanu Arora
4.You may not realize this, but your diet has a huge impact on the health of your teeth. In this video I'm going to show you some foods that are great for keeping those pearly whites shining bright! As a dentist I know all about what kind of products can help keep our smile looking amazing. The first ingredient we need to focus on is fiber because it helps remove toxins from the mouth and keeps plaque at bay. This video will cover how much water should be consumed daily, natural toothpaste alternatives, and other things that might surprise you! Best Food Products for our healthy teeth 1. Water Water is the most necessary nutrient for our body. It helps with digestion, metabolism, and many other functions that are essential to life. As it turns out, this universal ingredient also has an important role in oral health care. To maintain healthy teeth, we need to drink water every day because it aids in the prevention of tooth decay by reducing plaque acidity levels in your mouth. 2. Milk Milk is one of the simplest ways to keep your teeth healthy. Pasteurized milk contains high amounts of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and other minerals that are essential for strong bones and teeth. Milk also has proteins which can help remineralize tooth enamel - something that many people have problems with due to eating too much sugar. Drinking milk regularly will ensure you have a very happy smile! 3. Tea When most people think about tea they automatically assume it's good for them because of its antioxidant properties. However, did you know that there are other health benefits of drinking black tea? Not only does it contain antioxidants that help fight free radicals in our bodies, but also helps keep your gums strong and healthy by reducing the amount of bacteria found in the mouth. 4. Cheese We are always looking for ways to keep our teeth healthy. One way is by consuming cheese that has been aged for an extended period of time. Farmer's cheese is one such type of cheese, and it can be used in a variety of recipes to help with the health of your teeth. 5. Green Leafy Vegetable Many of us are aware that eating green leafy vegetables is good for our health. What many people don't realize, however, is the fact that this includes a person's teeth as well! In order to keep healthy teeth and gums, it's important to eat foods high in fiber. These include fruits and vegetables such as berries, apples, carrots, celery sticks and broccoli.
